School of Nursing Commitment
As part of the Nurses Climate Challenge, we have launched a School of Nursing Commitment. Nurses must be prepared to care for patients in the context of climate change and be knowledgeable about actions to mitigate further climate impacts. The School of Nursing Commitment is an opportunity to include nursing students at all levels to participate in this movement by integrating climate change into the nursing curiculum.
The Nurses Climate Challenge invites you to participate in a partnership model between our initiative and nursing schools across the country. Help achieve the overarching goal of preparing all nurses to better care for patients and communities in a world with a changing climate by joining the School of Nursing Commitment.
Would your school of nursing like to commit to educating students about climate and health? Use our customizable letter to leadership to ask for support in joining the School of Nursing Commitment.

This initiative is built to function in nursing schools across the United States. Due to variation in university legal requirements, we do not collect signatures or official documentation of the shared commitment. The commitment is made via verbal and electronic communication between the Nurses Climate Challenge and each school of nursing. Furthermore, content from the Nurses Climate Challenge does not need to be officially adopted into the school of nursing’s curriculum or syllabus. For questions, please contact nursesclimatechallenge@hcwh.org or fill out the form below for more information on how to join.
